Baby's first trip to the Zoo.

Before I was a mom (that is still weird for me to say by the way), I always thought it was kinda dumb for parents to take their babies to places like the park... ball games... Lake Powell... the zoo...
Only because what is a tiny baby going to do? Are they even going to know where they are? What is the purpose of taking a baby there? They're not going to remember!

Then I became a mom. I get it. It is not what the baby will be experiencing, it is what the parents will.

Today was Tanner's first trip to Hogle Zoo.
As you can see, he got more entertainment chewing on the zoo's map, then anything else.
What came first? The mommy or the egg?
Always have to get a picture with the lion drinking fountain.
With cousins Andrew and Julie. Notice Kollin's hand holding Tanner? haha!
 Love my boys.

We are still wondering if he even noticed the animals or not.

Probably didn't notice these ones... since his hat most likely blocked them.
It was crazy how close this Rhino got. It scared Julie. Tanner, of course, was not phased.
Maybe the next time we go he'll notice more?

Tanner, Chloe. Chloe, Tanner.

I finally got some pictures of Tanner "playing" with Chloe. I love how well she puts up with him!

Cannon cousin pictures

The weekend we got home from Lake Powell, it was figured out that all of the cousins would be in town for about 20 hours. So we all got together to get our little basketball team pictures!

All of the grandkids so far are boys, and there are five. So Gwen got matching little basketball jerseys. How cute!
I think it's been decided that Tanner is going to be the forward, and Wayne is Shaq the center.
 Slam dunk!
 Oooo... BIG ball!
Libby and Bippy hanging out with Andrew and Wayne.
 Grandma Cannon with Cole.
 Daddy with Tanner.
Some of the sisters and kids taking a break.
It was next to impossible to get Wayne to hold still. Such an active kid!
Something else next to impossible? Posing 5 little boys ages 3 and under....
The only one that sat still and behaved perfectly was little Cole. Such a sweetie!
We tried a change of scenery to try to get a good shot.

 And a change in pose.
 Food break!
Aunt Bippy got clobbered with nephews!
 Another change of scenery....
We finally gave up and played in the fountain.

I am just hoping that Britta got a good shot! I am sure she did and the finished product will look absolutely amazing! Can't wait to see!

Lake Powell day 6

Well, it is the end of our vacation and the day we go home. So sad. Tanner trying on my sunglasses. The first time all week Tanner has worn clothes. Way too hot for anything but a diaper!
I used to be as white as Tanner. Guess I got a little color on my pasty skin!
Such a sweetie.
He was getting fussy not being held as we were trying to clean and pack. So I broke out the carrier.
The hat is a little big right now. But dang cute!
Cousin Ben sings this song to his brother Cole when he is fussy. And also sang it to Tanner. I finally got a video of it on the last day!
It is the hard rock "Dadgum" song by Mater from Cars. So cute.

Lake Powell day 5

This was our last full day. Great day for more relaxation. Bippy, Libby and Russell out on the jet ski.
Coming back from water skiing. Kollin was able to get up!
Tanner and Wayne playing.
Tanner apparently thought Wayne was hilarious.

Grandma Cannon wanted a picture of all the cousins. We have our own little basketball team so far! Too bad we missed Andrew in the picture.
My happy boy in his pack-n-play.
I wanted to finally get Tanner in the lake. I got him in his swimming diaper and swim suit.
See how the swimming diaper is a little big? haha!
Our little family floating around in the water. Tanner did much better than expected. He stopped crying after the initial shock of the cold water and did just great for about 15 minutes. Then I think it was more the life jacket and not the cold that was getting to him.
Warming back up!
I guess Tanner was pooped since he fell asleep in Grandma Cannon's lap... holding onto his feet.
